REFA Founded in 1924 as Reichsausschuß für Arbeitszeitermittlung ("Reich Committee for Working Time Determination"), the organization developed pioneering methods for analyzing and improving work processes. It is recognized as Germany’s—and by extension, Europe’s—oldest association in the fields of work design, business organization, and process development

This project aims to gradually implement the REFA training concept across the MENA Region. The initial focus will be on REFA’s basic training, which imparts essential REFA knowledge. To achieve this, professional coaches will be trained to become qualified REFA instructors, who can then pass on their expertise to others. The ultimate goal is to develop a robust pool of trainers capable of teaching the REFA methodology across all industrial sectors.

The REFA Fachverband e. V., headquartered in Darmstadt, is the central body that designs and oversees educational programs, conferences, and publications. It also coordinates regional chapters (in states like Hessen, Bavaria, Berlin/Brandenburg, etc.) which bring the training to local professionals.

The REFA-Institute is an organizational unit within this association that is responsible for developing and updating training curricula, in collaboration with scientists, industry practitioners, and labor representatives (both employers and unions). This ensures methodology remains up-to-date and balanced
